Qantas has announced a new route linking the Top End with the WA resort town of Broome.

Starting on October 27 2019, Qantas will fly three times weekly between Darwin and Broome using Fokker 100 aircraft.

It will be the only nonstop flights serving the destinations.

Qantas said the route is feasible now that it is downgrading the Darwin-Alice Springs service from Boeing 737-800 jets to the Fokker 100.

That change also takes place on October 27.

The airline is committed to boosting tourism to the Northern Territory with the signing of a three-year marketing partnership worth up to $4.5 million.

"Qantas is proud to be the biggest private sector supporter of tourism to the Northern Territory and this deal will see us continue sharing this special place with the rest of Australia and the world," said Qantas chief marketing officer Stephanie Tully.

Qantas will promote special fare deals to the NT through digital platforms and to its 12 million frequent flyers.
