Philippines budget carrier Cebu Pacific is expending its network in mainland China with a new Manila-Shenzhen service.

Shenzhen becomes Cebu Pacific's fifth city in mainland China and the airline's 27th international destination.

It will operate four times a week beginning on July 2.

Days of operation for the 2 hours 40 minute flight are every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Shenzen is an important destination for both business travellers and visitors, and we remain constant in our mission to enable lively trade and tourism," said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific's marketing and distribution VP.

The airline recently announced a mission to expand across North Asia and mainland China in particular to take advantage of the growing tourism numbers visiting the Philippines.

Shenzhen is also a major business centre.

"We want to provide our travellers a viable option to reach Shenzhen, which is one of the most crucial commercial centres in the world," Iyog added.
