Singapore Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have deepened their long-term code sharing partnership to include all flights between Singapore and Jakarta.

It includes cross ticketing on the nine flights per day that each airline operates.

The carriers began code sharing back in 2010, starting with the Singapore to Denpasar, Bali route and was later expanded to include Singapore-Surabaya five years ago.

Singapore Airlines' regional unit SilkAir also codeshares on Garuda Indonesia flights to Denpasar and Surabaya.

Garuda Indonesia codeshares on SilkAir-operated services to 10 destinations in Indonesia.

With the new agreement the airlines' customers have access to a total of 175 weekly flights between Singapore and Indonesia.

"Indonesia is a very popular tourism and business destination and we are pleased to make the country more accessible to travellers," said Tan Kai Ping, SIA's senior vice-president of marketing planning.
