InterContinental Hotels Group has announced a big expansion for western China with 10 new hotel deals signed.

IHG will add hotels in Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Yunnan and Gansu across luxury, upscale and midscale brands.

New properties include InterContinental Chengdu Shawan, HUALUXE Guiyang Financial City, Crowne Plaza Mianyang High-Tech Zone and Hotel Indigo hotels in Puzhehei and  Jiuzhai.

It also announced two new EVEN hotels and two for Holiday Inn Express.

"Today's signings are not only a great showcase for IHG's diversified brand portfolio and close partnership with hotel owners, but also a strong demonstration of our confidence and commitment to both the west and the entire Chinese market," said Jolyon Bulley, CEO, IHG Greater China.

IHG currently operates more than 330 hotels in China with a combined inventory of more than 100,000 guestrooms across nine brands.
