Raffles Hotels & Resorts is to open its first US property in Boston in 2021.
In partnership with Saunders Hotel Group and developer Jordan Warshaw of The Noannet Group of Boston, Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences will include 147 luxury guestrooms and 146 branded residences in a new 33-story mixed-use development.
Now owned by AccorHotels, the Raffles brand has a colorful history dating back more than 130 years, and takes its name from the flagship Singapore property, which itself was named after British Victorian-era explorer and modern-day founder of Singapore Sir Stamford Raffles.
Declared a national protected monument by the Singapore government, Raffles Singapore is famously the birthplace of the cocktail Singapore Sling.
Amenities planned for Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences include a two-story sky lobby, five F&B outlets, the Raffles Spa with a 20-meter indoor pool, a rooftop garden terrace and the signature Raffles butler service.
Kevin Frid, COO of AccorHotels North & Central America said: "As the only Raffles property on the continent, the hotel will bring to North America the standards of excellence for which the Raffles brand is celebrated. We are certain that Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences will become a legendary address for years to come."
Raffles Hotels already has a presence in a dozen locations around the world including Paris and the Seychelles, and a development pipeline that includes Dubai and Warsaw, Poland.
