Delta Air Lines and alliance partner Aeromexico will launch a new US-Mexico route linking Detroit to Queretaro.

Flights begin on September 17, 2018 operating Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays on Embraer E190 jets.

It becomes the 13th route launch by the Delta-Aeromexico joint cooperation agreement.

"At Aeromexico we strive to not only connect but also to promote the tourist and cultural potential by both cities," said Aeromexico SVP Paul Verhagen.

"We are confident that our passengers will be able to enjoy both destinations to their fullest."

It will be the fourth route served by Aeromexico at Detroit Metropolitan Airport a year after returning to the airport.

"Queretaro is another route important to out revived and vibrant auto industry. It is also an example of DTW's growth," said Chad Newton, interim CEO of Wayne County Airport Authority.
