Marriott International is bringing a new Ritz-Carlton hotel to New York City's NoMad district.

The company signed an agreement with developer Flag Luxury Group for 250 hotel rooms and 16 branded residences, which will cost in excess of $500 million.

Located at Broadway and 28th Street, the tower development is being designed by architect Rafael Vinoly and both hotel room and residence interiors will be created by design firm Yabu Pushelberg.

"This signing speaks to the strong demand we are experiencing for luxury hospitality and branded residences. We are thrilled to be working with Flag Luxury Group to bring this significant project to the NoMad area," said Tony Capuano, global chief development officer for Marriott.

The tower will have a fine-dining restaurant, a Club Lounge, a Ritz-Carlton Spa, fitness center and rooftop bar.

Construction has already started and it is expected to open in 2021.

Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, president of Flag Luxury Group, said: "The hotel and residences tower will have an ideal location and sophisticated design, complemented by the celebrated Ritz-Carlton service."
