Auckland is getting its first Hotel Indigo after a deal was signed between IHG and developer Ninety Four Feet.

Hotel Indigo Auckland is set to open in 2021 and will have 225 rooms.

It will anchor a mixed-use development that includes food and beverage and residential units and will be one of the city's tallest buildings.

Hotel amenities planned include an all-day dining venue and bar, meeting space and a gym.

"Hotel Indigo is one of our fastest growing brands globally and, closer to home, Hotel Indigo Auckland will be the fifth signing in Australasia. We're so excited to open one of the first globally-branded boutique hotels in Auckland," said Abhijay Sandilya, IHG's senior director of development, Australasia.

IHG has two further Hotel Indigo locations under development in Australia - Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley and Hotel Indigo Melbourne Docklands.

The company has 47 hotels operating under four of its brands in Australasia.

"This development is destined to become an iconic landmark on the Auckland landscape, and with robust tourism arrivals and unprecedented demand we are confident that Hotel Indigo Auckland will be a story of success," said Dean Rzechta, MD at Ninety Four Feet Property Development.
