Air China is expanding its European footprint with a new route to the Greek capital.

A new nonstop route connecting Beijing and Athens begins on September 30 with flights twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Airbus A330 jets will be deployed on the route.

The new direct service reduces the travel time to just 10.5 hours.

Air China has been serving Athens with a one-stop service via Munich.

It brings the total number of routes operated to Europe to 26, connecting 19 cities, with up to 300 flights a week.

These include London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Barcelona and Madrid.
